Who are we ?

Our Identity

The YARHA Festival is a product of the YARA association. Created in 2013, the international week is a professional platform where directors, actors/actors, producers, directors from all over the world present their first works (1st and 2nd feature films) to the Cameroonian public. Since then, the YARHA festival has seen celebrities such as Aïssa Maga, Marie Philomène Nga, Rahmatou Keïta, among others.

Yarha is a week of intense activities related to cinema, culture and development. During the week, you can attend film screenings, training workshops, conferences and/or round tables and even art exhibitions. The festival has also set up a platform for the promotion of women entrepreneurship in cinema, notably through meetings, and most recently an incubator.

As part of the festival, the YARHA festival selects each year first feature-length fiction films for its official competition and for its out-of-competition category, feature-length films and shorts as well as documentaries or focus films among other genres. See the rules of the festival’s call for films.

At the close of the official competition, which lasts the same length as the festival, our annual official jury chooses the best films to be awarded prizes. Thus, each edition of the festival presents a prize list at the end.

The YARA Association

The YAOUNDE REVIV’ART Association (YARA) has been contributing to the promotion of cinematic art in Cameroon and around the world for 10 years now.

From 2016 onwards, it has placed particular emphasis on raising awareness among the very young in schools. The aim of these sessions is to educate them in the responsible and civic consumption of images and above all, to arouse in them vocations and passions for the cinema professions.

In addition to the screenings, YARA carries out many other parallel activities: it accompanies young people and women in search of funding for their projects, and most recently the Yaoundé Film Lab project.
