Film screenings

3, 2, 1 … chuuut !

Film screeningsOpen to all moviegoers. This is the main activity of the YARHA festival, its goal, to bring cinema as a product closer to its final consumers in the person of the « general » public, but above all to promote the first films, whatever their origin, in accordance with the festival’s regulations.

The screenings are free and accessible to all audiences (except in case of age limit indicated by the film). The films screened during the festival can be divided into three categories, namely: films in competition, films out of competition and the selection of films from the cinema breakfast mornings.

The films in competition are those selected following the call for films made by the festival. They are notably those among which the jury formed for the current edition will choose the films, directors or actors to be awarded according to the distinctions below:

  • best first work of fiction
  • best fiction director
  • jury prize
  • best screenplay
  • best interpretation
  • best original music
  • better picture
  • honorary prize woman
  • entrepreneur in cinema
  • best female interpretation

As of the 2020 edition, the YARHA will take into account health measures during its deployment and thus opts for the projection of cinematographic works in the open air, under tents provided for this purpose, with respect for social distancing in addition to other barrier measures to fight the virus.

The programme of screenings is made available to the public in both physical and digital form in addition to the various communications issued for this purpose via our social networks.
